We start our journey in a country full of culture, delicious gastronomy, vibrant colors, gorgeous nature and joyous music. We are Team Mexico. Our team members are high school students who are on our school’s robotics team, two are focused on programming and three are focused on mechanics. We have two team mentors, one for engineering and one for administration of the team.

This is the first year that our members and mentors will get the amazing opportunity to be a part of the FIRST Global Challenge. We believe that one of the best characteristics of this event is the opportunity it offers to get to know other countries and their cultures. Learning about other cultures helps you open your horizons and helps you develop cultural awareness while talking about robotics. We are thrilled to learn about the other countries robots and their experience solving this challenge.

This year’s theme is important for us because renewable energy solutions are essential for our city. Our team is located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, which is one of the most industrialized and polluted cities of our country, hence we consume a lot of energy and many companies use carbon as their form of energy. The Hydrogen Horizons theme takes a part in our daily life as our city tries to look for more renewable energy solutions.
