In our pursuit of excellence, we eagerly embrace opportunities to learn from international peers, eager to showcase the distinctiveness of our nation. As we embark on this transformative journey, our overarching aim is to kindle a passion for STEM within our local community. We fervently aspire to inspire individuals to explore the marvels of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Hailing from Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, Team Namibia consists of members with varying degrees of familiarity with robotics and coding. While some possess prior experience, others exhibit a keen eagerness to learn and grow on a daily basis. Despite limited availability, a handful of institutions in Namibia offer coding classes and robotics education. Our collective objective is to maximize exposure, thereby encouraging young children to actively engage in robotics and programming. This concerted effort aims to motivate them towards pursuing fulfilling careers in STEM disciplines.

The team is composed of five students having strong interest in STEM and robotics, and possessing valuable skills in programming, technical work, mechanics, and social media management. Leading the team is Christofina Magongo, a public figure, currently serving as the Secretary of the Youth Council of the Municipality of Windhoek. She holds the prestigious position of head girl in her school.

The team’s programmers are Robert Dishena and Rejoice Teca. Dishena enjoys coding. Dishena’ aspires to become a Marine Biologist or a Chemical Scientist. On the other hand, technology keeps Rejoice curiosity running. She loves graphic design, web development, and Arduino robotics. Both have a background in IT and boast intermediate digital literacy skills.

Handling the technical aspects is Robert Kalomho, who demonstrates impressive proficiency in cybersecurity and computer usage. Robert enjoys physics and computer science. Responsible for managing the team’s social media presence is Hein Villiers. He has proven himself in the FIRST Lego League competition, earning the Robot Design and Robot Performance awards. Beyond robotics, Hein enjoys listening to music and reading.
