05 Sep Team Antigua and Barbuda 2025 🇦🇬
Hey FIRST Global! Antigua (An-tee-ga) & Barbuda (Bar-bue-da) checking in from our amazing white and yes, even pink – sandy beaches in the heart of the Caribbean! 🌴
We are DadliBots, and robotics is our sport! Since 2018, we’ve been building, coding and learning new skills while making STEM super fun for young minds from across the country.
This summer, thanks to the incredible support of our STEM partners, student teams of “EcoBots” and “EcoBits” came together at St. John’s Catholic School for our annual TechByte Robotics Camp. Together we proudly collaborated, innovated and proved just how creative our youth can be in solving global challenges utilizing technology.
From that success, we’re thrilled to announce our new home at the St John’s Catholic School with the launch of the TechByte Innovation Center (T.I.C.). Here, through our Technology, Entrepreneurship and Climate HUB (T.E.A.C.H) Academy program, students will now have year-round opportunities to explore coding languages, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and much more – all while brainstorming sustainable solutions to advance achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As a vulnerable Small Island Developing States (SIDS), we know firsthand the urgency and need to tackle issues of climate resilience and protecting biodiversity. That’s why we were especially proud to host an exchange during TechByte with FRC 8096 – Cache Money from the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools who provided us with valuable lessons in engineering and teamwork.
As such, it’s truly an honour to carry our national flag at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025, and we are super pumped to compete with all the other teams in Panama.
Thank you, FIRST Global – together we’re building robots for a BRIGHT future! 🤖
Meet Our FGC 2025 Team Members:
Johnathan (Leader): is 18 years old and attends the St. Anthony’s Secondary School. He aspires to become a mechanical engineer, driven by a deep passion for cars and his fascination with how mechanical systems work. An avid anime fan, Johnathan is looking forward to interacting with diverse cultures and expanding his world view through FGC2025.
Neel (Coder): is 15 years old and attends the Baptist Academy Secondary School. Fun fact Neel enjoys puzzles and holds the national speed cubing record for Antigua and Barbuda with a 3×3 single of 17 seconds. He is considering careers in the field of computer science and hopes to build connections with other FGC2025 students around that world who also share his passion for STEM.
Varuni (Inventory): is 15 years old and attends the St. Anthony’s Secondary School. She has keen interests in space, technology and medicine. Through her participation in FGC2025, Varuni hopes to inspire more young people, especially girls, to get involved in STEM and take better care of precious flora and fauna in the environment. She’s excited about this team role as it will also help her to improve her communication and organizational skills.
Jeremy (Driver): is 15 years old and attends the Baptist Academy Secondary School. He really enjoys video games and aspires to become either a software engineer or a game developer. This passion has led him to start pursuing video editing and even writing literature. Jeremy is super proud to represent his country team in FGC2025 and welcomes the opportunity to encourage more young people to be champions of change for the future!
Adike (Engineer): is 16 years old and attends the St. Anthony’s Secondary School. Since being a toddler, he really enjoyed disassembling and building things. This has led him to adore open world video games, where crafting his imagination is almost limitless. He aspires to become a software and robotics engineer someday; so that he can incorporate skills that he will learn during FGC2025 to better protect the environment in the future.
