G’day! We are Team Wombat, based in Australia, bringing together innovation, grit, and teamwork spirit!

Our robotics team consists of nearly 20 young minds from 18 different schools across Sydney. Meanwhile, we celebrate the superpower of girls in STEM, with 20% of our team made up of girls. Our team roles include various aspects, such as project management, mechanics, strategic planning, and outreaching. Through weekly meeting and brainstorming sessions, our passion for robotics grows, our friendships thrive, and our shared determination to make a real impact becomes stronger than ever. The FIRST philosophies of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition have deeply influenced how we approach challenges, support each another, and engage with our wider community.

We are thrilled to be invited to participate in 2025 FIRST Global Challenge. It is not only a milestone in our FIRST journey that began with FLL and FTC in 2022, but also a great opportunity to step onto the global stage for the first time.

We are especially excited about this year’s theme, Eco-Equilibrium, due to its profound environmental significance. As a country with unique biodiversity, Australia is home to thousands of species found nowhere else on Earth, including kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, and a variety of reptiles, birds, and native plants. As a result, preserving and maximizing biodiversity is not just important to us; it’s closely connected to our national identity and our responsibility to future generations. Moreover, our agriculture and fishing industries rely heavily on natural resources, which are supported by eco-equilibrium. As the world faces severe challenges of climate change, there is an urgent need to protect our environment and support ecological balance.

We look forward to collaborating with international teams on innovation and robotics to help restore a healthy planet.
