09 Jul Team Cayman Islands 2025 🇰🇾
We are Team Cayman Islands, a dynamic group of STEM enthusiasts from eight Cayman Islands schools. Our team prides itself on teamwork, collaboration, cooperation and friendship is at the heart of who we are. United by our passion for robotics, we share a love for STEM and tech innovation.
As a team, we share our enthusiasm for STEM through community outreach and by inspiring Cayman’s youth to get involved in robotics. We are excited that FIRST Global provides us with a platform to help raise robotics awareness and Team Cayman Islands is determined to be a country that recognizes robotics as a sport.
Team Cayman Islands is ready to take on this year’s theme ‘Eco Equilibrium’ with passion and purpose. As a small island surrounded by water, our coral reefs are among the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, supporting at least 25% of all marine life. They are often referred to as the “rainforests of the sea” due to the incredible variety of life they harbor.
This biodiversity is crucial for the health and stability of the entire marine ecosystem, making sustainable practices vital to the reefs’ survival and health.
Our 2025 team members include: Nathaniel Shaughness, Dezira Tatum, Logan Collins, Isaac Conly, Sean Higgins, Emily Hansraj, Hailie Malcolm, Jean-Matthew Downie, and Jamie Johnson. Mentors include: Glenda McTaggart, Desmond White, Teejhan Hansraj, Namitha Abraham, and Kyle Farrington.
