19 May Team Croatia 2025 🇭🇷
Our team is made up of five passionate students, two junior mentors, and four dedicated mentors, all united by a shared love for robotics, engineering, and innovation. Although we come from different schools and backgrounds, we work together as one strong and motivated unit.
Marin Kurešić, who is 19 years old, has graduated his final year at Ruđer Bošković Technical School in Zagreb, specializing in mechanical and electrical engineering. Now Marin is attending Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding in Zagreb and is participating as a junior mentor in our IT and robotics club in Ivanić-Grad.
Same goes for Stela, Stela Jalžečić has also graduated this year, she has been attending the V. Gymnasium in Zagreb, one of Croatia’s most respected academic high schools, and brings strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills that perfectly complement the technical side of the team. Stela is now attending Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding in Zagreb and is also participating as a junior mentor in our IT and robotics club.
Our representatives are Veronika Mihinec, Marko Fugaš and Toma Gašparović. All 15 years of age, who are attending the Ruđer Bošković Technical School in Zagreb. They bring us their irreplaceable technical knowledge and understanding of complex robotic mechanics and programming ability.
Fran Mance, who is also 15, is currently attending the Ivan Švear Technical School in Ivanić Grad, focusing on technical and engineering subjects, and bringing youthful energy and fresh ideas to every part of the project.
Arian Večerin, another senior member of our team at 18 years old, has finished his education at the Technical School in Vrbovec where he was specializing in becoming a CNC operator. His technical knowledge and hands-on skills are invaluable assets to the team.
Although we study at different schools, we all come from the Moslavina region, located in continental Croatia. This region, known for its hardworking and innovative spirit, is the heart of our team’s identity.
Our work is supported by IT-net, an informatics club based in Ivanić-Grad founded in 1996., which provides us with a base for our meetings, work sessions, and mentorship. Thanks to their support and the guidance of our mentors, we have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve amazing things together as a team. The club also provides STEM education for preschoolers, elementary and high school students as well as the elder city population.
We are proud of our diverse backgrounds, our strong regional roots, and our ability to work together towards a common goal: creating the best robot we can and representing Croatia with pride on the world stage.
Last year, Marin, Stela, Arian, Marko, and Fran had the honor of representing Croatia at the FIRST Global Challenge 2024 in Athens, gaining invaluable experience and forging friendships with teams from around the world.
In addition to FGC, Marin, Stela, Marko, and Fran have also participated in other prestigious robotics competitions such as FIRST LEGO League (FLL), Croatian RoboCup, and the World Robot Olympiad (WRO).
Through these experiences, they have developed not only technical skills but also teamwork, leadership, and a global perspective.
We are accompanied every step of the way by our leader, mentor and organizer Mario Želježnjak, with mentors Martin Franković and Hrvoje Tišljar who have been running the IT and robotics club for more than 20 years. And a huge thanks to our additional support mentors Branko Lončar, Karlo Holub. They mentor us and assist in making important decisions.
What unites us all is a shared goal: to use our skills to make the world a better place.
