25 Jun Team Denmark 2025 🇩🇰
We are Team Denmark, and we are excited to be participating in the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 alongside so many skilled and passionate students from all over the world. The five of us attend the same high school in Hadsten, Denmark, and share a common interest in robotics and programming. Our school, Favrskov Gymnasium, is a liberal arts high school, where we have mandatory courses in such areas as history, literature and social sciences as well as STEM subjects. We won the national Danish qualification tournament competing with other high school teams in such disciplines as sumo wrestling with LEGO robots, robot Jenga, and robot mini golf.
The theme of Eco Equilibrium is extremely relevant to us in Denmark. Over 60% of Denmark’s land area is utilized agricultural area which is the second highest in the EU and among other factors, intensive agriculture and nutrient pollution have put biodiversity and ecosystems in Denmark under pressure. Since 1850 more than 340 species native to Denmark have become extinct. In the last few years, the government has started implementing legislation to change this decline, but this is of course only possible if these initiatives are accompanied by new technologies and bright young minds to invent these and optimize existing technologies.
As a team, we are going to embrace whatever is coming our way at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025. Our hope is that we, and the rest of the participants, enjoy our stay in Panama City and have a great time experiencing and handling new challenges.
The team members are Casper Schmidt Jensen, Laura Andrea Roager, Laura My Led Frederiksen, Victoria Henneberg Hasager, and Simon Nørgaard Andersen.
