Team Dominican Republic – FIRST Global Challenge 2025
The Dominican Republic proudly returns to the international stage of robotics at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 in Panama, with a passionate and diverse group of young innovators who reflect the rich talent from across the country.

This year’s team brings together five outstanding students from various regions of the Dominican Republic, each representing a unique blend of skill, creativity, and determination:

Franleny Villanueva (17) – From Tenares, province of Hermanas Mirabal. A strategic thinker passionate about science and social impact.
Jesús Germán (17) – From Salcedo, with strong skills in electronics and robot mechanics.
Gabriel González (17) – From Conuco, known for his commitment to programming and system design.
Lía López (17) – From the community of Primera in Tenares, with a special eye for design and integration.
Esthefany González (16) – From Salcedo, an energetic team player with a talent for coordination and critical thinking.
These students come from different towns and provinces across the Dominican Republic, bringing together the voices and dreams of youth from the North, the Central Cibao region, and rural communities committed to innovation.

Mentors:

Isaac E. Vásquez Montilla – Head Mentor and National Team Leader. Isaac has been leading the Dominican Republic’s participation in FIRST Global since 2018. A renowned public innovation strategist and educator, his leadership has guided the team to international recognition.
José Enrique Ulloa – Technical Mentor. An engineer and robotics instructor, José brings deep technical expertise and a passion for building solutions that empower young minds.

Legacy of Dominican Republic at FIRST Global

Since its debut in 2018, the Dominican Republic has consistently stood out for its technical excellence, creativity, and spirit of cooperation. With multiple awards and honors over the years, the country continues to build a strong pipeline of future scientists, engineers, and changemakers who believe in technology as a force for good.
