30 Jul Team Estonia 2025 🇪🇪
We are grateful to be representing our country as Team Estonia. This year’s team has nearly doubled in size, adding seven enthusiastic new members to the roster. Although two of our previous season’s members have had to take a step back due to compulsory military service, they will be continuing as mentors, demonstrating their dedication to robotics. While there have been many big changes leading up to this year’s competition, our passion for robotics hasn’t wavered, motivating us to keep going, even after having already dedicated several years to this field.
Before ever hearing about FIRST Global Challenge, most of our team had met and previously collaborated through the FIRST Lego League (FLL). This year’s team consists of students from more than eight FLL teams, ensuring diverse and unique perspectives during the problem-solving process. Even though we reside all over Estonia, our passion for robotics motivates us to come together from distances spanning 200 km.
We are ecstatic about this year’s theme, Eco-Equilibrium, as biodiversity is a major strength of our country. Over 20% of Estonia’s area is under protection in the form of national parks and nature reserves and, in general, 56% of our species are in favourable conservation status, which is significantly higher than the European Union’s average of 27%. Our country’s high biodiversity protection standards push us to show our passion for biodiversity through the lens of a more successful robot game.
By representing our home country of Estonia in FIRST Global Challenge, we hope to show the world our passion for the sport of robotics. The addition of a new female member also helps us work towards our goal of making robotics more accessible and inclusive for everyone. This year’s large and diverse roster demonstrates our determination to highlight the deep-rooted resilience and creativity of Estonian youth. Estonia’s exemplary biodiversity policies motivate us to display strong performances in both the Robotics Challenge and New Technology Experience, as we are determined to reflect our country’s resilience and passion for the STEM field.
