Hi everyone, we are Team Italy, a group of high school students from “Copernico-Pasoli” in Verona.

This team was created by our teacher, in 2023, under the name “Code Play”, we entered as a rookie in the Centerstage FIRST Tech Challenge Piacenza (2023-2024) and we arrived 23rd out of 30 global teams. This year at FTC Lignano Sabbiadoro (2024-2025), Into the deep, we got the 14th place out of 40 global teams, and we were the first among all italian teams (this helped us a lot in the selection). The selection was composed of two parts, the first one was to create a video about us and how we engaged with Eco-Equilibrium, and, last but not least, we had to show our collaboration with a company that uses Eco Equilibrium as their mindset.

Then we had to hold an interview with two Italian judges to determine which team was more engaged with Gracious Professionalism.

We arrived first with equal merits with another team, but, as an icebreaker, they considered our ranking in the FTC game.

After being chosen, our biggest trouble was to choose the five members who will go to Panama, and, after intense discussions, we decided to send five of our most important and able mechanics and programmers there as the five students, one of our ex-members and our I.T. teacher, but we also decided to send two extra students as the photographer and as the one who knows the match rules, accompanied by our physics teacher and by our principal.
