Representing a nation of scattered islands and limitless potential, Team Maldives is a passionate group of young innovators using robotics to tackle real-world challenges and build a more sustainable future. All five students joined ForLoop Coding Academy five years ago, each with their own vision and interest in technology from curiosity about machines, to a passion for the ocean, concern for the environment, and a drive to address climate change through innovation. Today, they’ve come together with Women In Tech Maldives to proudly represent the Maldives on the global stage.
Led by Eashal, 17, a student with a deep love for the sea and a talent for design. Eashal ensures the team stays focused and organized, guiding everything from shaping robot concepts to managing tasks and timelines. She is proud to help lead their mission to engineer for the health of our oceans and a more balanced world. Shua, 15, brings curiosity and sharp analytical thinking. As the lead in research and analysis, she helps the team understand the challenge, explore strategies, and connect robotics to real-world solutions.Yoonus, 16, leads the programming side of the team. With strong logic, precision, and creativity, He ensures the robot performs its tasks accurately and supports the team in solving complex coding challenges. Zaidhan, 14, is also a dedicated programmer on the team. He focuses on writing clean, functional code and plays a key role in turning ideas into working systems that guide the robot’s performance. Alaan, 14, is the team’s builder. He enjoys hands-on problem solving and is responsible for assembling the robot, making sure all parts fit and functions as planned.
Together, these five students form a dynamic and determined team. As participants in the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 in Panama, they are not just building a robot; they are building a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand.
