Team Malta 2025 🇲🇹


Team Malta is proudly representing the country at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025, an international robotics competition focused on STEM and global collaboration. The team is guided by Director Conrad Vassallo and Deputy Director Thomas Gatt from the Institute of ICT at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).

The team brings together six dedicated students who share a strong passion for technology, innovation and teamwork:

Emanuele is 18 years old and is taking part in the FIRST Global Challenge for the second time. He enjoys game development and has already published several games. He also writes music and is passionate about racing, building and pushing creative boundaries through coding and design.

Thomas Francalanza is 16 and currently studying software development at MCAST. He enjoys programming and is eager to apply his skills in this year’s challenge. In his free time, he plays video games and watches films that often inspire his interest in tech.

Lukas Nicolo Pace, born in 2008, is passionate about 3D design, robotics and Maltese culture. He runs a YouTube channel on local traditions and shares his 3D creations online. Lukas studies software development at MCAST and is known for his creativity and curiosity.

Ayden Cachia, 16, has a keen interest in IT, especially game development and digital media. He enjoys learning through hands-on projects and aims to create something meaningful through technology. Outside school, he spends time playing games that involve strategy and teamwork.

Burstyn Santillo is representing Malta for the second time. He enjoys robotics, game development, photography and videography. He looks forward to meeting other teams, learning about new cultures and sharing ideas with students from around the world.

Jean-Luc Desira is studying multimedia software at MCAST. He has been passionate about robotics since childhood, often taking apart toys to understand how they work. Today, he focuses on game development and hopes to become a developer or designer.

Team Malta 2025 is a diverse and motivated group united by their love for technology and problem-solving. They are proud to represent Malta on the global stage and are ready to collaborate, learn and compete.
