Team Nigeria is a dedicated group of secondary school students aged 14 to 18, guided by a team of passionate coaches and mentors. We come from different regions and cultures across the country, united by a shared love for science, technology, and innovation. Representing Nigeria at the 2025 FIRST Global Challenge in Panama, we’re proud to be part of a global movement that uses robotics and STEM to solve the world’s most urgent challenges.

This year’s theme, “Eco Equilibrium,” is especially meaningful to us as Nigerians. Our country faces major environmental issues from flooding and desertification to energy inefficiency and pollution that directly affect the lives of millions. Through this challenge, we are exploring how robotics can support sustainable living, restore environmental balance, and create solutions that are both innovative and locally relevant. It’s a chance for us to not only learn but to contribute ideas that could help shape a greener, more resilient Nigeria.

More than just building a robot, we see this as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of STEM, promote robotics as a sport, and inspire more young Nigerians to explore science and technology. We believe our generation holds the power to shape the future, and through FIRST Global, we are learning to lead with purpose, collaborate across borders, and represent Nigeria with pride on the world stage.
