Head Coach: Ousmane Bakhoum
Founded in 2015 by Ousmane Bakhoum, a dedicated physics teacher, the robotics team representing Senegal at the FIRST Global Challenge 2025 is a symbol of excellence, diversity, and hope for an inclusive technological future in Africa. For nearly a decade, Mr. Bakhoum has been inspiring and mentoring young minds through his school-based robotics club, which has become a true hub of innovation and creativity.
Since 2019, he has been joined by Mamadou Lamine Koma, a passionate computer science teacher whose contributions in programming and project development have significantly boosted the team’s technical capacity and overall evolution.
The 2025 team is made up of brilliant and motivated students, driven by a passion for solving real-world problems, innovation, and global collaboration. Here are the young talents proudly representing Senegal this year:
Moustapha Pascal Cissé – 12th Grade (Science Track – S2)
The team’s lead driver, Moustapha is also actively involved in building the robot. Known for his precision, calm demeanor, and strategic vision, he leads the team on the competition field.
Abdallah Mbengue – 12th Grade (Science Track – S2)
Abdallah plays a vital role in mechanical construction and programming, and serves as the team’s secondary driver. His ability to merge mechanical design with coding makes him an indispensable team member.
Mouhamed Niang – Recently promoted to high school after passing the BFEM
Representing the team’s next generation, Mouhamed is engaged in construction, programming, and driving, showing great versatility and promise.
Zeynab Sar Fall – Recent BFEM graduate
One of the team’s young female members, Zeynab is highly active in programming and eager to expand her skills in construction and driving. Her curiosity and determination make her a valuable asset to the team.
Yaye Aissatou Seck – 12th Grade (Science Track – S)
Yaye contributes significantly to construction, strategy, and driving. Her analytical thinking and collaborative spirit help keep the team focused and united.
Team Vision
Driven by the mission to democratize science and technology in Senegal and across Africa, the team serves as an inspiring model for youth. Through their participation in the FIRST Global Challenge, they aim to proudly represent Senegal while promoting international cooperation, sustainable development, and innovative thinking to help build a better world.
