Team Solomon Islands have coined ourselves as “Team SoloBots” and includes five young but passionate students from Years 9 to 11 in Woodford International School. The team is proud to represent the richly diverse home of Solomon Islands at the FIRST Global Challenge. Inspired by the dream of advocating for STEM in Pacific nations where it often receives little attention, the team is driven to bridge the digital divide while pursuing their own future career goals in science and technology. Despite limited resources and coming from the only school in the country with a robotics program, the SoloBots are determined to showcase their creativity, resilience, and the rich culture of their nation.

The SoloBots hope to inspire the next generation of STEM enthusiasts across the Solomon Islands – to encourage especially girls to explore robotics and showing students with disabilities that they, too, can excel in technology. By highlighting diverse voices and abilities, the team wants to demonstrate that robotics is not only exciting and fun, but also an inclusive way to learn, innovate, and make a real impact in their communities.
