“Tubalamusiza nyo!” (Greetings to you all) We are Team Uganda. A dedicated group of youth aged 13-16 from Kampala city, a city of 7 hills. We are passionate about STEM. Many of our members are encountering robotics for the first time. This is because, our team is selected not only by the level of skill but also the passion they have and the desire to learn.
Our team is thrilled to participate in this year’s FIRST GLOBAL Challenge as it deeply resonates with us. Uganda is home to numerous endangered species like the Shoe bill stork, Mountain gorilla and even our national bird-the Crested Crane and as such, we recognize the need to protect and conserve our biodiversity. Under the guidance of our talented mentors, Jossy Nasasira and Carolyne Ekyarisiima, we have been preparing to take on this year’s challenge.
And just like the Luganda language proverb goes,”Agali awamu ge galuma enyama” (Teeth chew meat by working together) we understand how crucial cooperation and teamwork is in ensuring this is achieved. We are more than ready to represent Uganda’s resilience on the global stage!
