Meet Team Zimbabwe, a group of talented and creative innovators. We are positive about life and full of passion for robotics & technology. We are proud to represent Zimbabwe, and people living with disabilities in this prestigious 2025 FIRST Global Robotics Challenge.

We have faced unique challenges in pursuing our passion for robotics since we all have different hearing losses and different degrees of deafness. Despite negative attitudes towards people living with disabilities, we have chosen to pursue our dreams, and embrace teamwork. We are very adaptable and determined to solve any challenges, together. We are proud to show the world that individuals with disabilities can excel in STEM fields and make valuable contributions.

We are thrilled to participate in the 2025 FIRST Global Robotics Challenge where we will demonstrate our technical skills, creativity and teamwork. Our robot can perform movements with accuracy and dexterity for which reason we are determined to win the 2025 challenge.

We intend to pursue careers in robotics as well as inspire others to pursue their passions in STEM fields regardless of their backgrounds. We encourage all individuals with disabilities to imagine and believe – it is important to be proud of who you are and showcase your talent. FIRST Global Challenge – here we come!

Team Members
Team leader: Rosemary Mugova is our skilled robotics programmer who has been really instrumental in our team’s success.
Robotics engineer: Tanatswa Mutsvunguma and Tadiwa Mashapa have exceptional technical skills and are the brains behind designing and building the robot.
Designers: Mufaro Makwema, Nicole Nyarirangwe and Cherish Chanda have created our team’s visual identity and robot design. Cherish and Nicole are very creative while Mufaro pays attention to detail.
