Team Colombia 2024 🇨🇴

Team Colombia is the union of more than 25 teachers and students. We created the foundation Team Colombia Educational Innovation, with the dream of reaching every corner of our country, inspiring the love for science, technology and the sport of robotics.

Hi, I’m Tania Arbeláez Zambrano, I’m 14 years old and I’m in ninth grade, I live in Palmira, and I study at the San José Campestre bilingual school. My hobbies are listening to music, playing sports, watching movies and series, building Legos and puzzles and finally everything that has to do with art. I started in the robotics group because I have always liked building things, I love the feeling when you finish a project and realize that all the effort and time invested has been worth it. Robotics for me is something that makes me strive and try to improve every day, it is also a way to meet new incredible people and further expand my knowledge. I know that this opportunity they have given me is going to be wonderful and I will try to make the most of it since, I have high expectations.

Hi! My name is Danna Gabriela Jaramillo, I am 14 years old, I live in Palmira, Valle del Cauca and I study at Colegio Bilingue San José Campestre and I am currently in ninth grade. Since I was little I have been a very curious person interested in understanding how things work. I consider myself a very active person and I invest all that energy in both sports and studying, and being able to combine both stopped being a dream and became a reality when I entered the world of robotics. The fact that I liked to be in constant movement led me to know and work in the construction area. After being on the team for a year, I can say it has been a wonderful experience that leaves me wanting to learn more so that one day I can transmit my knowledge to different people.

Hello, my name is Valeria Doncel Toro, a ninth-grade student at the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan educational institution. I am 14 years old, I am passionate about reading, listening to music, among other things. In the last 3 years I have been forging my path through robotics, trying hard, giving my all. This year I want to strengthen learning much more. I am in the robotics team, I want that with this new challenge I can continue to grow from the technical training, also personally my emotions to this goal go beyond my limits learn new things from each one my classmates, improve myself in all aspects, so when I finish school, I can study architecture.

Hello, my name is Alejandro Abadía Ortega, I am 17 years old and I am a student at the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán educational institution. I love everything that has to do with STEAM education and robotics. I love science and mathematics and I love studying, researching and working on what I like. The opportunity to work in Team Colombia is an incredible experience and opportunity where I want to constantly improve and perfect my STEAM skills and grow as a person.

My name is Camilo Osorio. From a very early age I showed a lot of interest in robotics. My strength is construction since I am also very ingenious with this topic, Robotics. I like it very much because they give you world problems which from solving them with a prototype which does not hurt humanity and that seems to me very cool because with that many world problems can be fixed and thus also be able to meet new people and new ways of working in robotics. With this I can practice many things thanks to the greater ingenuity I have for this and thanks to that I can also learn many new things from readings and enter into many world problems which one does not normally. It is also very cool because they put you to work in a way that you have to document everything then they also teach you a lot to document.

I’m Jacobo Penilla, a passionate student at San José Campestre Bilingual School, nearing my senior year and looking ahead to university studies. As a dedicated member of our robotics team, I’ve deepened my love for STEM. This year, I’m excited to represent my team at the FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, Greece. I love competition and sports, and I see robotics as one, embracing the whole experience. Thankful for the invaluable experiences FIRST has provided, I strive to embody the positive spirit of Colombians and make a positive impact in the world.

I’m Santiago Sierra, nowadays part of the Team Colombia mainly focused in the construction part of the process, but, willing to learn programming. Currently I’m in 9 grade and I’m looking at a future where I can keep being part of this team and willing to keep helping among mentors when I’m gone from school. As this is my first year in the team, I want to learn as much as possible about all kinds of things and become a very important piece of the team’s value. I really like robotics and exercise and I wanna give my time and effort this year to succeed and get on the podium of the FIRST Global Challenge.

Hello, I am Sebastián Holguín, I am 14 years old and I study at San José Campestre Bilingual School. I am excited to participate in the Team Colombia experience, as this will help me develop several skills that will be useful to me in my academic, work, and personal life. Since my childhood, I have been interested in knowing what goes behind each mechanism, making curiosity one of my main traits. Since I tried robotics in school, it’s been a journey to find my role in the team, going from building to coding several times, but I know that time will teach me what’s my real passion, and I would also be excited to learn both. This experience will help me enhance my strength, my will, and my leadership and initiative skills, as also will provide a good time for me and my teammates.
