MEXICO WILL HOST THE FIRST GLOBAL CHALLENGE 2018

CITY OF MEXICO (Notimex) – From August 15 to 18, the First Global Challenge 2018 will be held in Mexico City, an event that will bring together young people from more than 160 countries to “solve energy efficiency problems with robots created by them,” Grupo Salinas reported Tuesday. .

At the meeting, which will take place at the Mexico City Arena, the participants will apply their technological skills in favor of a better environment, the company said in a statement.

First Global is a nonprofit organization focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The organization seeks to inspire leadership and innovation in young people, in the fields of science and technology to address the most relevant problems globally and improve the quality of life of society, according to the statement.

He also stressed that the challenge reflects how science and engineering, in an environment of cooperation, communication and teamwork, can achieve transcendent actions, and solve major challenges facing humanity.

He also mentioned that the first edition of the First Global Challenge was held in July 2017 in the city of Washington, United States, where young people competed to generate access to drinking water. On that occasion the Mexican team won the third place.

Ricardo Salinas Pliego, founder of Grupo Salinas is also a founding member of First Global.
