PYROS-AI: A SYSTEM THAT IDENTIFIES AREAS AT RISK OF WILDFIRES
As Istria once again faces a high risk of wildfires during the summer months, a group of Croatian high school students is developing a technological solution that could help with fire prevention in the future.
The Croatian robotics team, “Team Croatia 2026,” is working on the Pyros-AI system. By utilizing satellite data, field sensors, and artificial intelligence, the system assesses the dryness levels of vegetation and identifies areas where there is an exceptionally high risk of rapid fire spread.
