FIRST Global Challenge 2018, the most important robotics competition in the world, will gather this year at the Mexico City Arena of the capital of our country teams from more than 190 countries, between August 16 and 18, with the challenge to solve energy efficiency problems with robots created by high school and high school students between 14 and 18 years old.

More than 1,300 young people will represent their countries in the “Energy Impact” competition, in favor of a better environment. Each team, consisting of up to five members, will develop a robot capable of feeding power plants to scale and build a transmission network in the most efficient way. The teams will join together in a random way in alliances in order to reach their goal and score points.

FIRST Global seeks to inspire young people with leadership and innovation in the fields of science and technology, to address the most relevant problems worldwide and improve the quality of life of society.

The challenge of this competition reflects how science and engineering, in an environment of cooperation, communication and teamwork, can achieve transcendent actions and solve many of the great challenges facing humanity.

In July 2017 the first edition of the FIRST Global Challenge was held in the city of Washington. In this event, the Mexican team obtained third place.

Ricardo Salinas, as a founding member of FIRST Global and host of the FIRST Global Challenge 2018, is firmly committed to supporting the formation of young people to transform the world, promote well-being and build a better future.
