Team Bahamas 2023 🇧🇸

Team Bahamas 2023 is composed of high school students from Saint Augustine’s College in Nassau, The Bahamas. The students on this team are members of the school’s Robotics and Computer Science Club, a club dedicated to supporting and fostering one’s interest and knowledge in coding, technology, and of course, robotics. Our team is excited to represent The Bahamas on a global level in the STEM field.

The Bahamas is an Atlantic archipelago comprising 700 islands and cays surrounded by turquoise blue waters. Over 7 million tourists a year come to enjoy visiting our tropical climate, beautiful beaches, and friendly people. Our team has a desire and passion for The Bahamas to be recognized for technological advancement and inventions alongside its natural beauty, indigenous creatures, and culture.

Hydrogen Horizons is an important theme for The Bahamas as our primary source of energy is fossil fuels, yet we have the potential for renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind, and ocean currents. We are making strides by outfitting many of our government and private buildings and schools with solar panels, and plans are underway to convert significant portions of our electrical grid to renewable sources. Through this year’s FIRST Global Challenge, we hope to bring more awareness to the idea of a sustainable energy future in our nation.

Thank you to our supporters!
