05 May Team Singapore 2023 🇸🇬
Greetings from the little red dot! A tiny island city with big dreams, Singapore is considered a hub of innovation, and it is our great delight to carry on the torch, hosting this year’s FIRST Global Challenge. A cosmopolitan city, Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, with people from all walks of life. Just like a painting, Singapore is a tapestry of many diverse and colorful strands, coming together to form a larger multicultural society. While diverse, there is no doubt a shared spirit of excellence regardless of race, language or religion, as this Lion City roars to life, punching above its weight and making its mark on the world.
With the energy question a global concern, developments regarding hydrogen have reached an inflection point. In line with this year’s theme, “Hydrogen Horizons”, Singapore is once again leading the charge to harness the potential of this abundant energy source. Under the National Hydrogen Strategy, Singapore seeks to harness this energy source to support its transition to net zero by 2050. The hope – that hydrogen will generate half of the country’s power. Beyond that, Singapore looks to utilize its position as the world’s busiest transshipment port to be a catalyst for the global shift towards a greener maritime industry, a beacon of this grand endeavor.
