Greetings from Team Ukraine! We are a passionate and talented group of individuals ready to take on the world with our innovative ideas and love for robotics. Our team is made up of five exceptional students: Ihor, Hlib, Timofiy, Vlad, and Roman, guided by our dedicated mentors, Yuliia and Maryna.

Together, Team Ukraine strives to change our country and shape a brighter future. With our unwavering passion, diverse talents, and love for robotics, we aim to overcome any challenge that comes our way, not only in Ukraine but also on a global scale. Watch out world, because Team Ukraine is ready to make a lasting impact!

My name is Ihor, I’m fifteen and I am studying at the Natural Science Lyceum №145 of Kyiv. I have been interested in robotics for 6 years. In the past, I have taken part in the national stage of the World Robot Olympiad 3 times and I am going to do so this year as well. However, robotics is not my only hobby of mine. Once I have come second in my category at the OceanMan International swimming competition. Interest and enthusiasm are the main reasons I’m part of Team Ukraine. My main goals are to solve interesting problems, get new experiences, and have fun with my team.

My name is Hlib, I’m fifteen and I’m studying at school-lyceum №240 in Kyiv. My hobbies are music, computer games, and Lego. I got my first Lego set when I was 5 years old and since then I have been into design and later robotics. I first learned about FIRST Global from Igor, with whom I used to work in robotics. I was interested in trying something new, more interesting, and challenging, so I agreed and now I am one of the team members.

My name is Timofiy, I’m sixteen. I study at the Natural Science Lyceum №145 of Kyiv. I joined the Ukrainian team this year, in the winter of 2023. I have been involved in programming and robotics for a long time and always wanted to participate in large-scale competitions. In addition to programming, I have several creative hobbies: I graduated from a music school, play guitar and piano, write music, and participated in several art conferences, national and international, as a speaker and moderator.

Hello, my name is Vlad. I’m fourteen years old, I study at school in Kyiv. My hobbies are Lego, computer games, reading and drawing. My favorite book series is Warrior Cats and my favorite game is Minecraft. I first learned about FIRST Global Challenge from Marina. I thought that I could try myself in something new and so I agreed.

My name is Roman, I’m sixteen years old. I’m studying in school 277. Last few years I’ve been interested in programming, math, and microcontrollers. Now I’m interested in Data Science and applied radio electronics. For this purpose, I signed up for the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. I was offered to enter the team and I agreed. Right now I’m interested in the development of Ukrainian robotics and I’m going to do everything necessary to popularize it.

My name is Yuliia and I am a team mentor. Since my childhood, I have been interested in computer technologies and this interest led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics, from the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’. Although I have a strong foundation in Math and Programming, my real passion lies in Robotics. That’s why I participated in the FIRST Global Challenge for 5 years in a row. I have a dream to make technologies and STEM education accessible to everyone, and I am constantly seeking opportunities to share my personal experience and knowledge with kids and students.

My name is Maryna. I am the team’s mentor. I am a lecturer at the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. Also, I am the coach of children’s robotics teams at various competitions. This year I will take part in the FIRST Global Challenge for the first time. I like to communicate with students, prepare new projects, solve problems, and get an interesting experience.
