The United States Virgin Islands, officially the Virgin Islands of the United States, are a group of Caribbean islands and an unincorporated and organized territory of the United States. The islands are geographically part of the Virgin Islands archipelago and are located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles. The U.S. Virgin Islands consist of the main islands of Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas and 50 other surrounding minor islands and cays. The total land area of the territory is 133.73 square miles. The territory’s capital is Charlotte Amalie on the island of St. Thomas.

TEAM US Virgin Islands is from the island of St. Croix. St. Croix is the largest of the islands in the territory, the former home of future founding father Alexander Hamilton and the home of the most eastern part of the United States. Our TEAM Mentors comprises educators with a combined 50+ years of educating and improving the lives of youth on St. Croix as well as an Engineer and Robotics enthusiast, as well as three dynamic highschoolers.

– Ricardo is a senior at Central High School on St. Croix. He plays volleyball for the Central High Caribs. He also enjoys video games and filming. He loves to catch people’s reactions and expressions. Ricardo has many career interests including professional volleyball and videography.

– Nnenaya is a junior and straight A student. She enjoys playing soccer, softball and being on her High School’s STEP Team. She enjoys spending time with her friends and her animals, learning new things, and traveling. Nnenaya’s career interest is Sports Medicine.

– Ziva is a freshman at Central High School on St. Croix. She plays softball, either first base or in the outfield. Ziva plays the steel pan, an instrument popular in Caribbean music. Her favorite video game is Call of Duty. Among her many interests she loves agriculture and aspires to be a heavy equipment operator.

TEAM US Virgin Islands is excited to participate in our very first Robotics Challenge! We are looking forward to meeting and collaborating with other teams from around the world and doing our part to find solutions to our world’s technological challenges.
