13 May Team Afghanistan 2024 🇦🇫
Despite the challenges posed by the situation in Afghanistan, our pioneering robotics team has persevered. Established by the Digital Citizen Fund in 2017, we now reside in Toronto, Canada, having relocated with our families after the fall of Kabul. We are proud to announce that our talented Afghan students have once again been selected to represent Team Afghanistan at the FIRST Global Challenge in 2024.
Our team members come from Afghan communities in Canada, Sweden, the UK, and Afghanistan. As a dedicated group of motivated students, mentors, and parents, we are committed to transforming our community’s culture through the STEAM program. Our goal is to nurture creativity, explore our minds, and unlock the genius within each of us.
We are dedicated to using cutting-edge robotics to address global food security issues and promote a sustainable future. For instance, the Afghan Dreamers have developed two versions of an agricultural robot: the first designed to harvest wheat, and the latest capable of harvesting saffron flowers for saffron spice production.
This opportunity allows us to invent, design, and create tools that can improve our community, our lives, and ourselves. We firmly believe that even the most significant breakthroughs in science, technology, and industry often begin with a simple childhood dream—a dream to contribute something meaningful to humanity. We aspire to be those dreamers who make a difference, shaping a better future for all.
Thank you to our supporters!
