13 May Team Bangladesh 2024 🇧🇩
Imagine the roar of the Royal Bengal Tiger echoing through the halls of innovation! This year, Team Bangladesh will roar with the same power and strength as 17 highly-skilled students are re-entering the arena of the FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, Greece.
Our journey began at The Tech Academy, an education and innovation hub, where we encountered a vibrant community of STEM enthusiasts. From there, Team Bangladesh emerged in 2017, driven by a mission to conquer the challenges in our nation’s technological landscape.
But in the jungle of limited resources, we sharpen our STEM claws with unwavering dedication, ambition and passion. We persistently enhance our skills, eager to leave a lasting paw print. Our passion for robotics and technology roars louder than any challenge we face. And just like the Royal Bengal Tiger, we don’t just thrive ourselves; we aim to generously share our knowledge to empower others to join us in this wild expedition of discovery and innovation. Our members include:
Aariz Anas – Anas (17) has been one of our beloved members since 2022. If you ever need a pro in Pokemon, he’s the one. Not only is he well-versed in competitive Pokemon, he’s extremely good at coding, whether it be JavaScript, GDscript, Python or even a bit of C++. He loves reading, gaming and most importantly, he loves cats.
Areebah Nawar Anwar – Areebah (18) started her robotics and programming journey in 2018 and has completed many projects involving Arduino and REV. She has been participating in FGC as a member of Team Bangladesh since 2020. She likes indulging herself in painting, writing, and baking. She wants the entire world to know about her love for spicy food.
F Zahraa Chowdhury – Zahraa (18) is Team Bangladesh’s oldest and wisest member. She has been doing FGC since 2020 (the year we won). She is the coal that keeps the team running as she has been coding and building robots since 2018. She loves to learn and try out new things and meet new people.
Humayeed Hassan Mahmood – Although Humayeed (14) is new to FGC and has only been learning robotics for 18 months, it doesn’t stop him from working with Team Bangladesh to overcome this year’s challenges. What’s impressive about him is his dedication to learning things he is interested in (like how he single-handedly taught himself how to play cricket).
Ishmam Ahmed – This is Ishmam Ahmed’s (15) second year of participating in FGC and he is already very experienced in Arduino and JavaScript. He’s a pretty cool guy and in 2019, he was awarded a prize by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Ishmam Shahrooz Chowdhury – Ishmam Shahrooz (13) excels at Arduino and REV robotics. He’s been training to be a part of Team Bangladesh since November 2023 which he considers to be a fun and challenging experience. A fun fact about him is that he is a football enthusiast.
Mehtab Ahmed Zaman – This is Mehtab’s (14) first year competing in FGC. He is already experienced with Arduino and Scratch and is in the process of learning Python and REV Robotics. He is a superfan of two popular sports – Chess and Robotics.
Nazar Noor – Nazar (14) is a passionate roboticist with this year’s FIRST Global Challenge being his very first. His dedication is exemplified by the fact that he managed to get into Team Bangladesh with only 4 months of robotics experience. One of his favourite hobbies is playing football.
Rashad Rauf Chowdhury – Rashad (18) has been a member of Team Bangladesh since FGC 2021 and is unhealthily obsessed with garlic bread. Although he claims not to have any hobbies he seems to have a knack for photography, Minecraft, making games and making fun of other team members (in a good way!). He would like his “cool nerdy aura“ shown as he’d like the world to know that 0^0 is equal to 1.
Rameen Ibn Taher – Rameen (13) is one of Team Bangladesh’s newest members. He aims to bring a positive change in the lives of Bangladesh’s less fortunate. His hobbies include football, video editing and loves to indulge himself with robotics and programming.
Rownak Reza Haque – This is Rownak’s (15) second time being a member of Team Bangladesh. He has come far, from making a flag in Java Processing to making games in Python to representing Bangladesh on the world stage in FGC 2023. He takes a liking to painting, basketball and reading. Interestingly, clowns seem to be one of his biggest fears.
Sabera Zainab Chaudhury – Sabera (17) has been a member of Team Bangladesh for the last 3 years. She’s quite a powerful Python programmer and an experienced roboticist. She loves basketball, chess and art but most importantly, she’s a huge fan of food.
Samir Hossain-Judd – Samir (17) has been doing FGC since 2022 and has been involved with robotics from the age of 9. He is experienced with Python and Arduino and has even made a working Chess Engine! He likes basketball and all sorts of games (both games you can play on the screen and the table). A fun fact about him is that he was called “YY” by his grandfather, as he was a curious child who always kept asking “why”.
Sarim Sharif – Sarim (11) the youngest member of our team, is a very special member of Team Bangladesh. You can never underestimate him though, he is a skilled roboticist and could easily teach anyone anything about the craft.
Sondepon Kundu – Sondepon (14), being part of our newest cavalry, has been eagerly learning REV since he joined. He’s been very committed and devoted to learning Arduino since the past year which has allowed him to quickly get a hand of REV robotics.
Syed Quafshat Taiyush Hamd – Taiyush (16) has been participating in FGC since 2021 and has successfully taught himself how to program with OnBot Java. Although he started with programming, he has quickly caught up with the mechanical side of the competition as well. He is a very well-rounded person who also participates in debate competitions and basketball games in his free time. With 5 years of experience in robotics, one of our most hard-working team members was the driver for Team Bangladesh with a broken arm!
Zahrah Sahar Anwar – Zahrah (13) may be new to FGC but knows her robotics. She has been making games and Arduino circuits since 2019. Her interests are mostly music, art, and reading fantasy novels. She is a big fan of music and fantasy characters.
Thank you to our supporters!
