Team Djibouti is a group of passionate young innovators representing the Centre de Technologie et d’Innovation pour le Développement (CTID) at the 2024 FIRST Global Challenge. Hailing from diverse educational backgrounds and united by a shared enthusiasm for STEM, our team is excited to showcase our skills and creativity on the international stage.

This year’s theme, “Feeding the Future,” resonates deeply with us as we come from a region where sustainable food practices are critical. We are particularly motivated to develop innovative solutions that can address the unique challenges of food preservation in hot climates. Our project, DOUNTO (Djibouti Ounto), aims to create a sustainable fruit and vegetable preservation device that can operate without internet access, helping to enhance food security in Djibouti.

We are thrilled to participate in the FIRST Global Challenge because it allows us to collaborate with peers from around the world, learn from each other, and bring home new ideas that can make a positive impact in our community. The opportunity to represent Djibouti and contribute to global solutions is an honor, and we look forward to the exciting journey ahead.
