Team France 2024 🇫🇷

We Robot is an independent association, not part of a school, created in 2017 by two mentors passionate about science and technology. These two Mathematics and Technology teachers discovered that year the robotics competitions and the FIRST Global Challenge.

We Robot is located in Normandy, near Giverny and an hour from Paris.

In September 2024, We Robot will represent Team France, composed of a team close to gender parity: girls as well as boys are involved in mechanics, programming, and communication, accompanied by 4 mentors. The “old” members have become mentors and pass on their know-how to the newcomers. Each member has a specialty: programmer, community manager, mechanic, driver, but a desire for everyone to experience the adrenaline of piloting the robot during the competition.

Team France is committed to always improving and surpassing themselves to do their best with respect for everyone. Team France is looking forward to the FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, to experience the excitement of the robotics competition, and to reunite with participants from other countries. With their previous experience, they are eager to ally with other teams to “Feed the Future”: an innovative theme, in this Olympic year with Paris 2024, we feel inspired.

The team works in synergy and remains in constant contact through various multimedia tools and social networks.

Competitions and Achievements

2017 – FIRST Global Challenge in Washington D.C.: After three months of preparation and communication, we met the 156 participating countries. Regular blog updates during all phases of preparation and good communication allowed us to return with the silver medal for the Sofia Kovalevskaya award.

2018 – Robotics Trophies: Coming 2nd in the regional competition, we qualified for the final phase in Saint-Quentin. We ranked 20th out of 62 teams.

2018 – 18th World Adolescent Robot Contest: In Guiyang, China, in the FIRST Global Challenge category, where we won two awards: 1. The International Unity Award for our investment in cohesion and our technical and linguistic assistance. 2. The Winning Alliance Award.

2019 – Robotics Trophies: Qualified for the final phase in Saint-Quentin, our new team finished well in the middle of the standings. The young participants learned to master stress and piloting, and the importance of rigorously checking the robot before each match. They designed a holonomic robot entirely in 3D modeling.

2019 – Luxembourg Youth Robotics Challenge (LYRC): The Luxembourg association Make it, chaired by Marc Teusch, kindly invited us. As the only foreign team, we won: The Ingenious Robot Award.

2020 – French Robotics Cup:
The We Robot Team engaged in a competition where all robots are autonomous. Facing the best French teams (mostly composed of engineering students), Matthieu and Mohamed, the youngest in the competition, did not disappoint.

2023 – FIRST Global Challenge in Singapore: Invited at the last minute, we only had three weeks to create the robot. The new team, composed of young people who had never done robotics before, progressed like never before in three weeks of total investment and cooperation with the other 190 teams from all continents.

2024 – FIRST Tech Challenge in Villeurbanne: The We Robot Team discovered a new competition with 51 teams, mainly French (a few invited European teams).
