Ghana’s food systems face many challenges including food crop production, mineral exploitation, housing, misuse of agrochemical products and impact of climate change. As such this year’s theme Feeding the Future resonates around how our country is seeking a pathway to a drastic transformation of our food systems to a sustainable one.
Meet the Girls representing Team Ghana
Team Ghana, comprises of talented and passionate young women, ready to make their mark at the 2024 FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, Greece.
This year’s team is made up of students from St. Louis Senior High School Robotics Club, who were the winners of the 2023 Ghana Robotics Competition.
Maame Abena, the team captain, is a visionary leader with a flair for coding and problem-solving. Michelle together with Sabrina are an integral part of the builders and have a natural talent for designing and building robots. Josephine and Ann Marie love to program and ensure the robot’s electrical systems are robust and efficient.
Together, these girls are united by their commitment to breaking barriers in STEM and inspiring the next generation of female leaders in Ghana. Through their participation in the FIRST Global Robotics Challenge, they aim to showcase their skills, learn from their peers, and make their country proud.
