15 May Team Grenada 2024 🇬🇩
Team Grenada 2024 will for the first time ever be comprised of an all-star ALL-Girls team. The team has been working throughout the year to try to enhance the robotics programme. This year the team has created a website with the hope to eventually have it be a key portal to STEAM education in the country. The team is oftentimes called upon by the Government to participate in events highlighting ICT in the country.
Meet Eva and Emma
Twin sisters who share a passion for creating and building. Both girls are passionate about academics, sports and leadership. They have represented the country on national basketball, football and netball teams. Having a passion for sports the girls experience all the thrills in robotics as they do in other sports such as basketball. Eva wants to be a mechanical or civil engineer and seeing a perfect alignment with robotics in her future career. Emma however is amazed that the wild cartoons she grew up to highlighting robots in everyday life is becoming reality around her. She was intrigued by NASA’s Robobaut 2 humanoid robot and hope one day to be an astrophysicist.
Meet Therese
She has always exhibited an insatiable curiosity in the operation of gadgets. She comes with a strong drive for excellence and has a passion for Science, mathematics and Technology.
Meet Elouise
Her hobbies include baking, hiking and gardening. She is often involved in community projects as she sees merit in self service to nation-building. She is part of the national Debate Club, young leaders, and robotics. Having grown up on a farm she is constantly reminded that hard work and being resourceful are key ingredients to meeting her life’s goals.
Meet Keena
Here is a struggle of determination and overcoming struggles. At just 17 years of age she has beaten cancer. This has led her to appreciate life and has taught her the importance of being resilient and determined. She is seen expressing herself through dance or on the badminton court whenever she is not immersed in robotics.
