FIRST Global 2024 Team HONDURAS, based in Tegucigalpa, includes students from local high schools and a vocational technical institute, creating a diverse and collaborative environment. Our team unites to represent our country and those who could not join us, including aspiring young voices, mentors, and parents who have supported us.

The team has grown from 6 members in 2023 to over 20 passionate students for robotics and learning. We are also fortunate to have increased support from last year’s participants and new mentors.

This year’s challenge is especially important for Honduras, a beautiful country in Central America. Many people here face significant hardships, with over 70% of the population living below the poverty line, and more than half of them in extreme poverty, making it difficult to access healthy diets. Sadly, one in seven children suffers from malnutrition, showing how urgent it is to provide nutritional support. The FAO’s 2022 report reveals that 15.3% of Hondurans are malnourished, emphasizing the need for action.

We are thrilled to be participating in such a life-changing project. We need everyone’s help to overcome this challenge and “Feed the Future”. Our participation in the 2024 FIRST Global competition symbolizes hope and progress for a better world. We cannot express enough gratitude to everyone here for making this possible.
