Team Kiribati 2024 🇰🇮

Team Kiribati, hailing from the stunning island nation in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, is thrilled to represent Kiribati in this year’s FIRST Global Challenge in Greece. Nestled across the equator and the 180th meridian, Kiribati uniquely spans all four hemispheres—Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern. We are also one of the few countries to first welcome the New Year.

Our team of five passionate students from diverse backgrounds is eager to showcase our innovation and creativity on the global stage. Introducing our team captain, Retiani Temaiana, who is working alongside her vice captain and lead programmer, Mote Mitateti. Our student design engineers are Tutana Ann Mwakin, the lead design engineer, who works with Simon Stuart Vincent Manwaring and Lachlan Moses Andrew, our robot engineers.

This year’s theme, “Feeding the Future,” resonates deeply with us as it addresses critical issues of food security and sustainable agriculture. Given Kiribati’s challenges with climate change and its impact on food resources, we are excited to contribute our solutions and learn from other teams worldwide. Participating in this competition not only allows us to apply our skills in robotics but also inspires us to address the pressing issues of sustainable food production and security. We look forward to collaborating with other teams and sharing our unique perspective from the Pacific.

Thank you to our supporters!
