Team Malawi 2024 🇲🇼


The Malawi Robotics Team is thrilled to participate in the 2024 FIRST Global Robotics Challenge in Greece, marking a significant milestone in our journey of innovation and technological advancement. Our team, consisting of talented secondary school students aged 14 to 18, represents a vibrant mix of both genders, united by a shared passion for robotics, engineering, and problem-solving which are pillars of STEM.

Frank is a 14-year-old aspiring lawyer who has found robotics to be a refreshing and enlightening experience, altering his perspective on machinery and robots. He is eager to tackle the challenges of the FIRST Global Challenge this year and hopes to succeed in them. His hobbies include reading novels and playing video games.
Seventeen-year-old Michelle aspires to be either an entrepreneur or an architect. She is interested in learning more about robotics to support her goal of addressing global warming. At this year’s FIRST Global Challenge, she looks forward to making new friends and learning from them. Michelle enjoys playing the guitar in her free time.

Stunna, 15, plans to study Electrical Engineering at university. Her motivation to pursue STEM comes from a desire to improve the environment. She is excited to learn new things at the FIRST Global Challenge and apply them to her ideas. Stunna’s hobby is playing basketball.

Mtende is 17 and aims to study ICT at university. He is driven by the desire to find safer and more technical solutions to everyday problems through STEM. He looks forward to interacting with people and sharing ideas about the impact of technology globally at the FIRST Global Challenge. Mtende enjoys playing football.

Seventeen-year-old Tazizwa has a deep passion for technology and ICT, ranging from coding to cybersecurity. Currently studying software engineering, she believes that systems can change the world. She is thrilled to participate in the FIRST Global Challenge this year and meet peers with similar interests. Tazizwa’s hobby is reading novels.

As we gear up to head to Greece, we carry with us the hopes and aspirations of our nation. We are determined to make Malawi proud and demonstrate the boundless potential of our youth in the field of robotics. Thank you for standing with us.
