We are the team from Panama, and we all know each other from school. There are five of us in total: Sofía, Marisabel, Mariana, Milena, and Narcy. As a team, this is the first time we’re working together, but we’ve realized that we have a lot in common. We are very excited to participate as a team in this new challenge, the FIRST Global Challenge, to gain new experiences that will help us become better global citizens.

Now, we want to tell you a little more about each of us:

Hello! My name is Sofía Villarreal, and I am 16 years old. I study in the science program because of my passion for chemistry, physics, biology, and computer science. I love participating in robotics events, where I can learn and have fun at the same time. Additionally, I dance and know how to draw. A fun fact about me is that I’m at level 2066 in a word game called “WoW.”

My name is Milena Delia Asca Salazar. I was born in March 2008, in Peru, and I’ve been living in Panama for 3 years, currently in the tenth grade. I consider myself a person passionate about art and nature, very extroverted and disciplined. I would lie if I said I only like one thing; to be brief, I love collecting knowledge. I practice weightlifting, robotics, debate, play many instruments, sing, and love sculpture. I would like to be a bioarchitect, marine biologist, neurosurgeon, and fashion designer, but unfortunately, I have to choose just one career.

I’m Marisabel Gálvez, and I love experiencing new things. One of my favorite activities is robotics, as I consider it the future of the world. I’m a very positive person, and I believe that we can all achieve what we set out to do, no matter the difficulties. A curious fact about me is that I’m afraid of dogs.

Now it’s my turn, I’m Mariana Gálvez, and I was born on September 24 in the beautiful country of Panama. I love learning new things and having fun while doing them. I love spending time with my family and friends, and I will never say no to a good party, especially when it comes to choosing my outfit. I love robotics and math, and of course, continuing to learn about them. Some fun facts about me are that I don’t drink any soda, I’m very picky with food, and I love combing and braiding my friends’ hair, and even my own.

Since I’m a gentleman, I’ll introduce myself last. My name is Narcy Carrera, and I’m very interested in mechanics. As a child, I grew up surrounded by engines because my dad is a car enthusiast; but it wasn’t until my school opened its first robotics club that I decided I wanted to learn more about it. I’m currently studying Automotive Mechanics, and I’m super excited to participate in FGC again.
