Team Serbia 2024 🇷🇸

Poštovanje! from Team Serbia 2024.

We are ecstatic to be part of this year’s FIRST Global Challenge in Athens, building on the unforgettable experience we had last year. Our team consists of four enthusiastic male students, each with unique talents and aspirations, all united by our passion for STEM.
Our aim is to gain knowledge and experiences that will be invaluable for our futures. We are committed to understanding global challenges to influence policies and shape educational initiatives effectively.

This year’s theme, “Feeding the Future,” is particularly significant for us, given the environmental challenges our nation faces. This theme encourages FIRST Global teams worldwide to tackle the issues and opportunities related to providing equitable, safe, nutritious, and environmentally responsible food for the global population.

With the exceptional guidance of our mentors, Vuk and Aleksandra, and our shared passion for STEM, we are ready to give our all this season.

Good luck and let’s make a difference and inspire change together,
Team Serbia

Marko Jovanović – Student
“I’m a high school senior at “Kreativno pero”, and I have a knack for IT, electronics, and robotics and mechanics. This marks my fourth time representing Team Serbia in this incredible challenge. I also took part in the prestigious XPRIZE Rainforest competition, which focuses on advancing autonomous technologies to assess biodiversity in nature.
In my free time, I love playing rock music with my family band. Photography is another passion of mine; I especially enjoy capturing images of nature, stunning landscapes, and cars, building a diverse and vibrant gallery.”

Bogdan Stamenović – Student
“Hello, I’m Bogdan Stamenović, and I’m 14 years old. I enjoy playing the piano, programming, and robotics. My journey into robotics began with the 2021 FIRST Global Challenge, the CubeSAT. What motivates me most is the sense of accomplishment when I see the robot we’ve built and know that it was a team effort. I love the team dynamics this year; we all get along well and support each other, which makes me confident we’ll perform well. I’m truly grateful to be part of Team Serbia.”

Dušan Mladenović – Student
“I’m an 18-year-old senior student from the High School of Electrical Engineering “Nikola Tesla” in Belgrade, Serbia. My passions include robotics, programming, and photography. I’m excited to connect with others who have similar skills, interests, and aspirations.”

Aleksandar Krizmanić – Student
“I am a senior at XII Gymnasium, focusing on computing and informatics. My interests are centered around programming and robotics. It’s an honor to represent Team Serbia and participate in this competition again. I’m looking forward to discussing critical climate change issues with my peers and working together to find the best solutions for our planet.”

Aleksandra Nedeljković – Team Manager
“I am the Founder and School Board President of Educational System Kreativno pero in Belgrade, Serbia. My vision is to create a school that balances education and knowledge, blending traditional values with the spirit of the time. This fosters a sense of community belonging and responsibility towards others. I envision a school where students joyfully and confidently acquire new and applicable knowledge alongside their teachers. Educational System Kreativno pero received the prestigious Climate Action Project School of Excellence award for the 2021/2022 school year and is ranked among the top 250 schools globally. I also led Team Serbia in the XPRIZE Rainforest competition, where, out of over 300 registered teams, Team Serbia was one of the selected 36 teams from 18 countries. I hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School, University of London. Before co-founding ES Kreativno pero with my sister in 2007, I worked in auditing firms in Cyprus and in telecommunication companies Mobtel and Telenor in Serbia.”

Vuk Vujović – Technical Mentor
“I hold PhD in electrical engineering and computer science. Currently, I work at the high school of Kreativno pero in Belgrade as a Professor of Computer Science. Additionally, I work at the Faculty of Business and Law at MB University in Belgrade as an Assistant Professor for two courses: Python Programming and Internet Technologies.
