Greetings from the Garden City! A tiny island with big dreams, Singapore is known to many as a city with lush greenery backdropped on an urban and bustling metropolis. Beyond the Garden City, Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, with people from all walks of life. This multicultural society is a tapestry of many diverse and colourful heritages that blend together to create a uniquely Singaporean society.

Feeding the Future is a theme that is extremely representative of Singapore. Being heavily reliant on other countries for our food supply, Singapore lies in a precarious position in the pursuit of sustainable food production. The ultimate goal in terms of food sustainability in Singapore is known as the “30 by 30” plan – that is to sustainably produce 30% of our nutritional needs by 2030. To maximise the use of our limited land, an integration of technology and agriculture has been wielded, with vertical farming atop skyscrapers to grow crops, and adaptations of aquaponic systems to suit the unique requirements of our climate. These developments and actions of today will greatly impact how our country will sustain our growing food needs in the near future.

Our team comprises a blend of 8 students from all over our small island. While we all come from different backgrounds, we share a common thread in our love for STEM, allowing us to utilise our diverse arsenal of talents to tackle this competition. Love from Singapore!
