22 May Team Ukraine 2024 🇺🇦
Best wishes from Team Ukraine!
We are proud to represent Ukraine at the 2024 FIRST Global Challenge, a country that gave the world such great engineers as Borys Paton, Serhii Koroliov, Igor Sikorsky, and many other great people.
Despite the problems we face on our way, in addition to solving global problems, we want to embrace STEM education and robotics in Ukraine and all over the world. We are confident that our love for engineering and the desire to make the world a better place can help us in it.
Our work is aimed at creating innovative solutions that can make people’s lives easier and contribute to sustainable development. By combining our efforts and knowledge, we hope to inspire the younger generation to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Each of us contributes their unique experience and skills, works with great passion and has shown great interest in STEM, programming, mathematics and robotics from a young age. But in addition to this, we all have a story to tell:
My name is Roman, and I’m 17 years old. My first projects were related to Arduino and generally some basic electronics. By chance from my teachers, I received an invitation to join FIRST Global 2023. It was adorable! A lot of new skills I acquired: mechanics and robot building, CAD-modeling, team-building and fundraising. And all these only in half a year! After the Singapore event, I divided myself into the SDR world and started my own blog. Waiting for more inspiration from 2024 FIRST Global in Athens.
My name is Vlad. I’m 15 years old and studying in a high school. When I was 12 I learned Python on my own and wrote my first bots. Learning programming languages earlier gave me a better understanding of algorithms. Since the age of 14 I started to do robotics and having made a robot I took first place in the city competition of the capital! I am creative and like to create something new, and I am also open to new acquaintances. Looking forward to new challenges and opportunities to improve myself.
Hi! My name is Kira, I’m 16. Through the time in FRC I have mastered many engineering and other skills: hand-manufacturing mechanisms, CAD modeling, driving robots in competitions, developing strategies, creating friendships worldwide; and, most importantly, discovering my biggest passion – mechanical engineering. I believe that STEM youth can change the world, and in summer 2023 I created and started to mentor one of the very few FRC teams in Ukraine of my own. I stand for protecting the planet and nature, and kindness. I enjoy making new friends, rainy weather, inspiring people and being inspired. I’m so excited to join the FIRST Global community!
Hello! My name is Anton. I am 17 years old and a first-year college student majoring in automation. Some time ago, I became interested in robotics and microcontrollers. In addition, I am also interested in aircraft modeling; I attend an aircraft modeling club. In my free time, I do some amateur painting and sometimes play games. I found the team on social media and decided to apply to test my abilities and learn something new.
My name is Yuliia, and I am the team mentor. My journey with FIRST Global began in 2018, and ever since, robotics has been my passion and driving force. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’, which provided me with a strong foundation in math and programming. However, it was through FIRST Global that I truly discovered the transformative power of robotics in shaping young minds. As a mentor, I am dedicated to making STEM education accessible to everyone in Ukraine. I founded and continue to grow the FRC teams in our country, striving to create a vibrant community of innovators. Working with young people inspires me, and I believe that together, we can make a significant impact on the world through technology and global education.
My name is Anna, and I am a team mentor. I have been dedicated to STEM education for several years, organizing robotics competitions and fostering young talent in Ukraine. My involvement with FIRST Global began in 2021, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I work directly with teams, helping them to organize their work and achieve their goals. The opportunities FIRST Global provides to students worldwide, including those from Ukraine, are truly remarkable. I am passionate about mentoring and am continuously inspired by the creativity and dedication of our young engineers. This year, I am thrilled to continue my journey with the team, aiming to inspire and support the next generation of innovators.
FIRST Global is an absolutely unique and eye-opening opportunity for both students’ individual development and for the nations of the world to solve global challenges as one big team. We are team Ukraine 2024 and we are so excited to form part of this community. Best of luck to all the teams and let’s make some huge impact in the world together!
Thank you to our supporters!
